How can members of the Bar/Chambers get involved?

The support offered by BME Legal would not be possible without the kindness and generosity of members of the Bar who all give their time voluntarily.

Here’s how you can get involved:

Mentors

• Become a mentor and provide 1x mock interview, reading pupillage applications and providing feedback. Offer one to one mentoring either via Skype/telephone/in person. Time commitment of 2 hours a month maximum. October 2020 – June 2021.

• Social Media supporter. Be intentional about retweeting our tweets (or engaging on other social media platforms) to reach more of our target audience.

Satellite Mentor

• Provide three mock interview and feedback session lasting 1.5 hours February - April 2021. (materials can be provided if necessary).

• Read and provide feedback (track changes/email/phone if necessary) on two different pupillage applications during January 2021. A four-day turnaround.

• Social Media supporter. Be intentional about retweeting our tweets (or engaging on other social media platforms) to reach more of our target audience.

Session Leader

• Chair one of our sessions. Ranging from advocacy, mock interviews, pupillage applications. Session leaders are usually approached directly.

Panel Member/Network Attendee

• Join a panel discussing a key area for prospective pupillage applicants.

• Attend one of our sessions purely for networking purposes, so that ISP participants can grow their network and get comfortable conversing with members of the profession.
